mozoot.facetime

The issue was brought up by a user from Apple’s discussion board suggesting that FaceTime has been taking pictures of her and her boyfriend without their permission. Though the user had written this as more of an inquiry than an accusation, its still quite unsettling if this was true.

She claims that while using FaceTime, either one of them sees an old picture on the screen while the other sees a black screen. This made her think that the service might have been storing previous data for some unknown reason.

However, this occurrence is not native to the FaceTime since it happens on Skype too. Personally, I don’t think Apple or Skype or any other video conferencing service is storing such photos. I think it is likely just a bug that comes with any video service for that matter.

With the hype of mobile phone platforms, we have the iOS, Android, RIM, WP7, China Unicom one of the largest Chinese operators, with subscribers of up to 170M surpassing the 100m subscribers of Verizon, comes their very own Linux based OS called Wophone. It’s actually still under development and its unlikely that they will have it out in the near future.

Surprisingly, 6 phone makers are supporting this soon to be OS: Samsung, HTC, Huawei, ZTE, TCL and Motorola.

I think this ridiculous, I mean do we really need one more OS? Don’t you guys think 4 is enough?  I feel like we will soon face a congested market with the demand actually not meeting the oversupply of mobile phones.

The first ever windows phone update raised a big controversy as it was reported to cause problems on some handsets: Omnia 7 and Samsung Focus to name a few, though no reported problems on Windows phone handsets from HTC and LG has been brought up.  Microsoft has advised the affected owners that they can exchange their phones for a working one with Retailers that carry their handsets.

The Redmond company is issuing a new update that will fix the problem for the mentioned handsets. They also announced that its OS will be adapted by Nokia as its platform and we are to expect Windows phone with the Nokia brand within the year.

The buggy update issued brought shame to the closely watch Windows Phone. Fail!
